HAL AND HPCL INTERVIEW EXPERIENCE

Hello evevryone,
I am Deepak Gupta and
Today I am sharing my psu's interview experience with some incident....
I passed my b.tech in 2016 from manav RACHNA college. M.D.U University. Which everyone knows is not so good University. In my school days I used to dream of iits but could not clear iit jee.
I appeared in gate 2016 and got 1779 rank. So that was not good for psus. I was not selected in any PSU and that year even rejected in ISRO interview. But I cleared iit gandhinagar interview.
But I didn't join that and joined DTU in thermal branch to prepare gate next time.
In gate- 2017, I got 608 rank. And this tym I got thermal Engineering in IIT Madras also.
Many of us in coaching used to think that for PSU u must be within 500 or your background should be from iits or nits.
But I think that is not correct.
Psus like bpcl , HAL and hpcl give you ample opportunity in lower rank also.
Although I didn't clear bpcl but yes I cleared HPCL and HAL interview.
In HPCL- mainly thing that matters is your interview and not Gate marks.
Although in final list gate marks are also added but ones that clear medical mostly get selected in final list also.
I went to Scope Minar, Laxmi nagar, Delhi for Hpcl interview.
Firstly we were divided in group of 8 students for G.D.
There were 3 topics in G.D which we had to cover in 15-20 minutes.
Topics may be previous topic asked.
Try to initiate the discussion always as many of u may have same point regarding topic. So better to put them at first.
Don't interfere in between and Try to give chance to other also.
If you are unable to initiate then don't panic. Try to summarize at end then.
3 students were choosen in my group.
Then we were called for P.I. one by one.
80-85 percentage questions are marketing type and rest are technical.
Questions asked to me were-
1. Introduce yourself.
2. Why PSU and not private Organization.
3. What will you do if your boss don't appreciate your work although you are giving your best.
4. Any decision that u took earlier and u think that that decision was wrong.
5. Setback in life.
6.your hobbies.
7. And again why not oil companies like reliance etc?
So basically give relevant answers and try to give little modified answer as all students give same answers.
HAL interview experience-
I was called in 2nd list for design in Bengaluru.
As it is defense psu- so try to go through it's manufacturing equipment.
There is no G.D. or G.T.

They generally prefer to ask questions from non thermal part like- M.S, S.O.M and Machine design etc.
Questions asked to me were-
Panel of 3 member was there.
1. What is material of turbine blade and its casing?
2. What is M.O.I. and polar moment of inertia?
3. What is section modulus and why I beam preferred?
4 what is rotational speed of engine?
5.what is antifrictional bearing?
Although last year I was not selected in ISRO but This year I am selected in ISRO also .
So basically keep faith in God and destiny.
Everything has its time to occur.
And at last a beautiful poem-
"Rakh hosla wo manjar bhi aayga
Pyaase ke pass samundar bhi aayga.
Dar ke na Beth o manzil ke raahi
Manzil bhi milegi or Milne ka mja bhi aayga"
